Hi, my name is CarI. I stayed with Philippa and Brad Boardman during the Easter holidays 2015.

I enjoyed my stay very much. All the people were so nice and we had so much fun together.

Staying in a host family is much better for your English because you have to talk English all the time, you learn a lot of new vocabularies and you live within a family. There is no chance to talk in mothertongue. Besides you get to know how they live and you get to know the culture of a foreign land.

Philippa and Brad were so familiar. They like children and animals very much. You feel like as they were your parents – perhaps they are more generous… For me it was hard to leave them.

The food was excellent. They cooked typical English food and also special international food. During my stay I tasted a lot of things like crazy cereals, bagels, fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding – I loved it.

After fourteen days at the Boardmans house I had a lot of exercises back in my school. I got the best grades ever. Besides I became very good in having small talk and I am also less afraid of talking to people in English.

In the language school I met interesting and funny boys and girls from abroad, for instance from Belgium and Austria. And the best is, that you can communicate in one common language: ENGLISH!

During our stay we had interesting excursions: for example a boat trip on the river Thames through London, we get to know Greenwich and the zero meridian and took place in a sailing regatta at the seaside nearby. In the evenings we walked the dogs, had fun with bike cycling and watching TV.

I am still in touch with my family over WhatsApp. And during our summer vacation we visited the Boardmans with our whole family. That was a very warm welcome and beautiful hours we spent together. I am sure we will stay in contact further more.
